Netflix’s The Chair is set in the fictional Pembroke College where DEI efforts are perfunctory, conflicts are mismanaged, and chair leadership training is nonexistent. An entertaining dramedy, the series’ astute critique of higher education struggles with listening, tackling systemic inequity, and fully engaging the digital age makes the series perhaps more relevant today than when it first streamed in 2021.
