ACAD provides academic leaders who share a commitment to student learning and to the ideals of liberal education with networking and professional development opportunities to support them in their work as educational leaders.
We are in the planning stages for the 2019 Annual Meeting which is being held January 23-26th in Atlanta, GA Call for proposals will go out in late May and sessions will be determined in August.
Our 74th Annual Meeting, “Navigate, Balance, Connect: Academic Leadership for Today’s Higher Education” held in conjunction with the AAC&U Annual Meeting January 24-27, 2018 in Washington, DC. was a great success Click here to view the 2018 program. Registration for the meeting is run through AAC&U and one registration fee covers all sessions regardless if they are ACAD or AAC&U sponsored. Registration and hotel information will be available on the AAC&U website in July.
At the January 26th members meeting the following individuals were elected to the Board of Directors in the Class of 2020: Andrew Adams, Western Carolina Univeristy, Glenn Geiser-Getz, Keense State College, O. John Maduko, North Central Texas College, Jim Salvucci, fomerly with Buena Vista University and Laurie Shanderson, Northcentral University. Paula O’Loughlin, Coe College was elected to fill a one-year vacancy in the Class of 2018 and Gregor Thuswaldner, North Park University was elected to fill a two-year vacancy in the Class of 2019. Lawrence Potter, University of La Verne and Michelle Mattson, Rhodes College, were elected as alternates.
