Former Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Dutchess Community College
Kristél Pfeil Kemmerer was appointed Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Dutchess Community College in 2015. As Associate Dean, she is responsible for oversight of Academic Services and Testing, tutoring, library, Teaching and Learning Center which includes online course delivery, and Writing Center; student academic appeals; and institutional and program assessment. Kristél serves on the Middle State Steering Committee, and committees for Institutional Effectiveness, Professional Staff Development, Enrollment Management, Program Chairs Council, and Department Affairs Council.
Prior to joining DCC, Kristél spent over 25 years experience as a senior academic administrator and teacher at 2- and 4-year, private and public colleges in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Tennessee. Her teaching includes undergraduate courses in education, music, music business, and interdisciplinary studies.
Kristél earned a BM and MM in music education from Ithaca College, and an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction from Lehigh University. She serves as an NVP (National Volunteer Partner) for Girls Scouts of the USA. She is married to Ken and they have two grown, employed children.
