Ross Peterson-Veatch

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, Southwestern College

 

Ross Peterson-Veatch is Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, and Professor of Folklore at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas. His leadership roles in academia began in graduate school. He served as founding Moderator of a reconstituted Graduate and Professional Student Organization at Indiana University. His work in administration began in faculty development at Indiana and prior to coming to Southwestern he served Goshen College as Associate Academic Dean, Associate Vice President for Adult and Graduate Programs, and as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs and Acadmic Dean.

Ross has taught a variety of subjects including Spanish language, Economics, Folklore, and Leadership. He currently teaches Introductory Anthropology course and the capstone course for Southwestern’s MBA program. He has published a variety of articles and book chapters on leadership and administration. He holds a BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Earlham College, and MA and PhD degrees in Folklore from Indiana University.
