Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Stevenson University
Jim Salvucci, in 2009, became the founding Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Stevenson University, where he had taught English since 2001. Previous to joining the faculty at Stevenson (formerly Villa Julie College), he was a visiting assistant professor of English at Loyola College (now Loyola University Maryland). As a faculty member at Stevenson, he served in a variety of leadership roles in faculty governance and led the university’s successful Middle States reaccreditation process in 2008. As dean, he not only oversees the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, but he also coordinates all study abroad activities for the university. Although a generalist, his research and teaching have focused primarily on Eighteenth-Century British literature. Salvucci holds a BA from Bard College, an MA from Queens College/CUNY, and a PhD from University of Toronto—all in English.
